As aesthetic enthusiasts seeking to learn about the latest treatment innovations, we are always wondering what the actual procedure experience is. It’s one thing to read the marketing material and often a completely different experience sitting in the exam chair having the procedure done. As patients we often wonder does it hurt? Will I be bruised or swollen after? Can I go back to work right after? Will people be able to tell I had work done? At Kline Dermatology, we believe in educating our patients so no question is unanswered and that our patients are supported during the entire treatment process. That is why we are inviting you for an exclusive behind the scenes look at our latest treatment, SculpSure, a non-invasive body contouring procedure that permanently reduces stubborn fat.
We begin each patient’s treatment plan with a thorough consultation to evaluate needs, desired goals, treatment course and outline next steps. The consultation takes roughly 15 minutes and often you can have your treatment done that very same day.
Pre-Procedure
For the actual treatment we do ask that patients avoid sun exposure 7 days prior and arrive for their appointment with clean, bare skin in the treatment areas. We recommend that the skin be free of any body lotions, oil and makeup. It is best to have a small meal and drink a glass or two of water prior to your appointment.
During The SculpSure Treatment
Plastic frames will be placed around the treatment area to hold the laser heads in place. The laser heads simply sit on the surface of the skin and do not cause any discomfort. Each SculpSure treatment lasts 25 minutes and is made up multiple heating and cooling cycles. The laser heads deliver bursts of heat deep within the skin to destroy fat cells, followed by cool energy pulsations to maintain comfort. The surface of your skin will remain totally unaffected! During the treatment you might feel a pressure sensation and some slight cramping that is generally well tolerated.
After The SculpSure Treatment
One of the benefits of SculpSure is that it has no downtime so you can resume your normal activities, including exercise immediately! You may notice some slight swelling and tenderness in the treatment area for up to two weeks that can be managed with cold compresses and pain relievers if necessary. As the fat cells are destroyed your body begins to naturally eliminate them so you that you begin to see results in as early as 6 weeks with optimal results seen at 12 weeks. Depending on your desired results a series of 2-3 treatments spaced every 6 weeks may be required.
